Difference between Lining and Coating

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COATING AND LINING
This method is designed to provide additional protection with the aim of reducing the corrosion rate of the metal, by suppressing the oxidation reaction of the transferred chemical / medium and increasing the durability of the surface, substrate, and structure on an object to be attached. On the surface, these two things have similarities, only different methods, functions and thickness.
Coating Methode
This method is applied in the form of a micron-sized thin layer that covers an object by deposition or coating, this method can be applied to the inside of the object or the inside and attached to the object, the aim is to increase the level of criticality of the item so that it becomes a barrier or protection against the surface of the item to prevent erosion (corrosive).
Lining Methode
In the layer method that has a thickness of millimeters in size to cover the entire item to the surface and attaches that is binding and fits with the same goal of reducing corrosiveness.
In Chemical Resistance applications.
We will discuss these two methods with PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) materials.
As many people know, PTFE is an excellent material in terms of mechanical engineering because it has excellent physical and chemical properties, has excellent thermal stability and is tough at low temperatures, has low thermal conductivity, is insulating. and excellent dielectric, very low coefficient of friction, and chemical resistance.
In terms of coating and lining, there should be no leakage such as small holes, dents, cracks or due to improper processing. The mark of the defect must not be more than 0.15 mm to avoid leakage and fatal during application, therefore our Quality Control team will always check whether the goods are suitable for sending to the customer or need to be repaired.
